At Corpus Bookshop, the new installation Sonian Wood celebrates the living materiality of the Sonian Forest — tracing its journey from woodland to workshop. The display brings together Belgian timber artisans, architectural thinkers, and bookmaking traditions, evoking the quiet intelligence of wood at every stage: from growth and grain to joinery and form.
Alongside the installation, a curated selection of books explores how wood shapes space and culture. Works like Wood: From Structure to Form (Kengo Kuma), The New Wood Architecture (Friedrich Von Borries), and The Craft of Furniture Making (David Charlesworth) offer architectural and craft perspectives that resonate with the installation’s tactile ethos.

A Forest of One’s Own and The Lives of Trees extend that dialogue into ecology, revealing how forests sustain both art and architecture.
Sonian Wood invites visitors to read wood as a language—where every knot, crack, and hue tells a story of place, time, and transformation.
