Pensieri fuggitivi / William Kentridge

Pensieri fuggitivi is the title of William Kentridge’s exhibition at the Piano Nobile of Palazzo Collicola, presenting a broad selection of works created over the past twenty-five years by the South African artist. This extensive time span allows visitors to grasp the depth, coherence, and evolution of Kentridge’s artistic sensibility, offering a wide-ranging and nuanced view of his practice. Drawings, sculptures, videos, prints, and notebooks come together to form a rich and multifaceted body of work, with more than fifty pieces on display. The title, Pensieri fuggitivi, refers not only to a video included in the exhibition (Fugitive Words), but also to the artist’s conceptual framework: a mode of thinking in constant motion, where nothing is fixed and everything can give rise to unexpected connections.
